KANAB 27, DUCHESNE 21: Duchesnes four-year reign atop 1A is officially over as visiting Kanab used a strong second half to knock off the Eagles to advance to the 1A semifinals.

2A PLAYOFFS

SOUTH SEVIER 14, NORTH SUMMIT 6: Alex Baker and Avery Healey each scored rushing touchdowns in the first half, and South Seviers defense made the lead hold up by keeping North Summit scoreless in the second half to advance to the 2A semifinals at Weber State.

3A PLAYOFFS

UNION 19, NORTH SANPETE 15: Zach Roll hauled in a Korbyn Bertoch touchdown pass with 5:13 remaining in the game as Union overcame a narrow deficit to top North Sanpete and advance to the 3A semifinals. North Sanpete went ahead 15-13 on a wild sequence at the end of the third quarter scoring on a safety and then a long touchdown run by Spencer Applegarth in quick succession.

4A PLAYOFFS

WOODS CROSS 37, MAPLE MOUNTAIN 7: After Maple Mountain cut Woods Cross lead to 9-7 early in the third quarter, the Wildcats responded with 28 unanswered points behind a pair of rushing touchdowns by Tomasi Giles and Braxton Gunther to run away with the 4A first round victory.

5A PLAYOFFS

AMERICAN FORK 42, HILLCREST 13: Tanner Smith threw three touchdown passes and Zach Katoa ran for two more as American Fork pulled away with a strong second quarter to advance to the 5A quarterfinals. Trailing 21-0 at the half, Hillcrest briefly whittled the deficit to 21-7 early in the third quarter, but the Cavemen responded with 21 points the rest of the quarter to start the running clock.

1A CHAMPIONSHIP

PANGUITCH DEF. PIUTE 25-7, 20-25, 25-17, 25-9 The Bobcats were led by middle hitter Taylor Bennett, who finished with 17 kills and four blocks. Darri Frandsen added 10 kills, while Chesney Campbell earned 10 kills and Whitni Orton added eight kills. Shaylee Gleave had a team high 15 kills for Piute.

1A THIRD-PLACE MATCH

MONTICELLO DEF. RICH 25-22, 26-24, 23-25, 24-26, 15-11: The Buckaroos defeated the Rebels to claim third place for the second straight season. The Rebels loss gives them fourth place.

1A FIFTH-PLACE MATCH

DUCHESNE DEF. MONUMENT VALLEY 18-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-18, 15-8: The Eagles defeated the Cougars in a five-set thriller to claim fifth place in the 1A tournament. The loss gives the Cougars seventh place.

1A SIXTH-PLACE MATCH

MILFORD DEF. WENDOVER 25-21, 25-10, 16-25, 25-13: The Tigers earned sixth place in the tournament with a victory over Wendover. THe loss means Wendover finishes in eighth place.

1A SEMIFINALS

PANGUITCH DEF. MONTICELLO 25-18, 25-23, 25-15: The top-ranked Bobcats swept the second-ranked Buckaroos to advance to the 1A state championship match.

PIUTE DEF. RICH 25-21, 25-13, 25-20: The fourth-ranked T-birds swept the third-ranked Rebels to advance to the 1A state championship match for the second straight year.
