HILLCREST 43, COTTONWOOD 41: Hillcrest withstood a furious Cottonwood rally in the final minutes to earn its first playoff berth since 2004. Tanner Thompson finished with four rushing touchdowns for the Huskies and Ian Smith added the other two. Nolan Lotulelei found Fua Pututau for three Colt touchdowns in the fourth quarter while Malu Hosea added two and T.J. Fehoko one.

MOUNTAIN CREST 7, BONNEVILLE 6: Mountain Crests Bubba Thompson found the end zone on a 35-yard touchdown run and a failed two-point conversion by Bonneville gave the Mustangs the victory in the Region 5 play-in game.

BOX ELDER 17, MOUNTAIN CREST 0: Riley Burt and Bryant Tingey scampered to the end zone for scores and Tyler Burgan contributed five points with his foot as Box Elder beat Mountain Crest for fourth place in Region 5.

SPANISH FORK 21, WASATCH 0: Spanish Forks Jason Money rushed for two touchdowns and Taylor Noles added another as the Mighty Dons beat the Wasatch in the region 8 play-in game.

MAPLE MOUNTAIN 17, SPANISH FORK 14: In a wild finish, Brandon Beebe returned a fumble 25 yards for a touchdown as time expired to give Maple Mountain the win in the Region 8 play-in game.

NORTH SANPETE 40, RICHFIELD 23: Trailing by four entering the fourth quarter, North Sanpete scored three times in the final frame to beat Richfield. Tallon Wanlass scored twice on the ground, while Spencer Applegarth carried the ball 27 times for 143 yards and a score.



NORTHRIDGE DEF. LAYTON 25-11, 25-15, 25-20: Rachel Parson had nine kills to lead Northridge as it dominated Layton.

FREMONT DEF. VIEWMONT 25-17, 25-18, 25-20: Fremont swept Viewmont. Madeline Vigil led the way with 13 kills.

DAVIS DEF. SYRACUSE 25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 25-20: Davis took care of Syracuse in four sets. MaryKate Buttars led the Darts with 15 kills.


BRIGHTON DEF. COPPER HILLS 25-20, 20-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-12: Brighton prevailed in a see-saw battle.

ALTA DEF. JORDAN 25-23, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25, 15-12: In a back-and-forth battle, Alta won the first two sets, then dropped the next two before taking the fifth and the match.


AMERICAN FORK DEF. HERRIMAN 25-9, 25-21, 25-18: American Fork controlled the match en route to sweeping Herriman.

LONE PEAK DEF. WESTLAKE 25-17, 25-20, 25-20: Lone Peak dominated in a sweep. Courtney Poulson had 12 kills and Annika Lacienta came up with 10 digs for Westlake in the losing cause.

PLEASANT GROVE DEF. RIVERTON 25-11, 25-20, 25-22: Alexus Sharp had seven kills, six digs and three blocks to lead Pleasant Grove as it swept Riverton. Sharps fellow seniors also had solid outings in their final regular season home match, as Whitney Anderson added eight kills, Brooklyn Bodily had 18 digs and Alissa Alger added 12.


BOX ELDER DEF. OGDEN 25-20, 25-15, 26-24: Box Elder controlled the match throughout en route to sweeping Ogden.

SKY VIEW DEF. LOGAN 25-12, 25-17, 25-18: Shannon Sorensen had 10 kills and Sydnee Ahlmer added four with a .667 hitting percentage to lead Sky View as it swept Logan.


CLEARFIELD DEF. WOODS CROSS 25-22, 25-21, 25-15: Kennedy Elwell had 13 kills and five digs to lead Clearfield as it swept Woods Cross. Alice Bocchiola added 20 digs and seven kills for the Falcons.

HIGHLAND DEF. CYPRUS 25-23, 28-26, 23-25, 17-25, 15-13: Highland won the first two sets before Cyprus battled back to win the next two. The Rams rebounded to win the decisive fifth.

BOUNTIFUL DEF. EAST 25-15, 26-24, 25-11: Bountiful had 35 kills and 10 aces as a team as it took care of East in a sweep.


MURRAY DEF. CORNER CANYON 25-19, 25-15, 25-16: Alarie Anderson, Lexi Davies and Kelsey Murray led the Spartans to the sweep. Davies, Taylor Winsness, Bree Evertsen and Niccole Kauer were honored as part of Senior Night.

TIMPANOGOS DEF. OLYMPUS 25-21, 25-17, 25-11: Olivia Jarvis had 14 kills and Heather Gneitling added nine to lead Timpanogos as it swept Olympus. Sabriena Vanisi had 26 assists and Alex Riggs contributed 16 digs for the Timberwolves.

SKYLINE DEF. MOUNTAIN VIEW 21-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-15: Skyline rebounded after dropping the first set to take the next three. Allie Rasmussen and Abby Selcho led the way for the Eagles with nine kills apiece. Selcho added seven digs and Helena Wolff contributed 28 assists.


SALEM HILLS DEF. PROVO 25-15, 25-16, 27-25: Salem Hills dominated the first two sets and then snuck by Provo in the third to sweep the Bulldogs.

TIMPVIEW DEF. MAPLE MOUNTAIN 25-13, 25-8, 25-9: Timpview took care of Maple Mountain easily in a sweep.
