Republican congressional candidate Mia Love and Democratic congressional candidate Doug Owens will face off this November, seeking the U.S. House seat of retiring Rep. Jim Matheson, who represents Utah's 4th District.

Mia Love hopes second congressional try is the charm

Love ran for the seat in the last election, losing to Matheson by fewer than 800 votes. She formerly served as the mayor of Saratoga Springs City, and would be the first black Republican congresswoman if elected.

Owens, the son of the late Democratic Utah congressman Wayne Owens, is a first-time candidate. He is a lawyer by profession, but has set aside his law practice to run for the congressional seat.
