DETROIT — Investigators are seeking a murder charge against the husband of a slain Detroit woman whose two children remain missing, police said Thursday.
Erin Justice was arrested Wednesday in Atlanta, one day after he was interviewed and released there, Detroit Police Chief James Craig told reporters.
Alicia Fox's decomposed body, shot twice in the head, was discovered Monday night in a vacant Detroit house. Her children, 6-year-old Kaylah Hunter and 8-month-old Kristian Justice, haven't been found.
"We believe (Justice) has information that can lead us to the children but we're not certain. ... We're hopeful the children are alive," Craig said. "That's the story we want to bring to you and the grieving family of the mother. That's our hope."
The Wayne County prosecutor's office was reviewing the request for a murder charge and should have more information to release Thursday, spokeswoman Maria Miller said.
Justice, 28, is the father of Kristian. Kaylah has a different father.
Craig said a 27-year-old man will be charged with being an accessory after Fox's death. He said it's unclear when Justice will be returned to Detroit.
