TACOMA, Wash. — Erasmo Ramirez allowed just two runs on five hits in six innings to lead the Tacoma Rainiers to a 5-2 victory over the Salt Lake Bees Thursday night.

Tacoma jumped early on Bees' pitcher Anthony Lerew (0-1), scoring twice in the first inning and once again in the third inning, and never trailed in the game.

Lerew allowed five runs in six innings in his second start since signing with the Los Angeles Angels organization last week. The righty scattered 10 hits in his six innings of work.

Salt Lake made a brief run in the seventh inning, with back-to-back RBIs by Luis Martinez and Shawn O'Malley, to cut Tacoma's lead to three runs, but Roberto Lopez grounded into an inning-ending double play to erase the threat.

The Bees (19-36) will close out their four-game series at Tacoma on Friday. First pitch is slated for 8:05 p.m.
