SPANISH FORK 10, MURRAY 8: Hayes Hall struck out nine batters in four innings of relief, including driving in the game-winning run in the fifth inning as Spanish Fork rallied past Murray in the second round of the 4A state tournament.

MOUNTAIN CREST 2, MOUNTAIN VIEW 1: Jackson Godfrey only allowed six hits and held off a Mountain View rally in the seventh as Mountain Crest advanced in the 4A winners bracket.

BOUNTIFUL 6, SALEM HILLS 5: Tanner Redding and Ryan Curtis hit back-to-back home runs in the third inning to give Bountiful an early cushion, but Salem Hills charged back to tie things up entering the final frame. With two outs in the top of the seventh and runners on second and third, Braves pitcher Benjamin Fowers secured the final out to get the win and help Bountiful advance in the 4A playoffs. A third home run for the Braves from Jordan Hayes in the sixth wound up being the difference-maker.

SKYLINE 10, MAPLE MOUNTAIN 9: Skyline built a 9-1 advantage after two innings and withstood a steady Maple Mountain charge to come out on top. Andrew Bourgeois led the Eagles with a home run and four RBIs.

WOODS CROSS 1, BONNEVILLE 0: Woods Cross came out on top in a pitchers duel as Shaden Fisher pitched a complete game and didnt allow any runs while striking out six.

WASATCH 9, KEARNS 4: Wasatch pounded out 14 hits and jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first two innings en route to the easy victory over Kearns in the 4A one-loss bracket. Chase Adams led the Wasps at the plate with three doubles and an RBI.

BOX ELDER 2, TIMPANOGOS 1: DJ Larsen got the win on the mound as Box Elder snuck past Timpanogos in a close battle.

LOGAN 10, CYPRUS 4: Logan jumped out to an early lead on Cyprus and never looked back to advance in the 4A one-loss bracket.


COPPER HILLS 6, VIEWMONT 3: Trevor Hoffman pitched Copper Hills past Viewmont as the Grizzlies remained in the 5A winners bracket heading into the second week of the state tourney.

LAYTON 7, BINGHAM 5: Layton was hot out of the gates and Pete Nielsen got the Lancers out of a jam in the sixth inning as they hung on to top Bingham.

LONE PEAK 12, TAYLORSVILLE 8: Trailing by three entering the final inning, Lone Peak exploded for seven runs to overtake Taylorsville and advance in the 5A winners bracket. Brooks Goeckeritz got the win on the mound for the Knights.

JORDAN 4, FREMONT 1: Colton Shaver pitched a complete game with 16 strikeouts and hit a three-run walk-off home run in the ninth inning to lift Jordan over Fremont in the 5A winners bracket.

PLEASANT GROVE 10, HILLCREST 0: Easton Walker homered, while Chase Merrell and Matthew Wilde both tripled as Pleasant Grove rolled past Hillcrest in the 5A one-loss bracket.

RIVERTON 11, COTTONWOOD 10: Riverton eliminated Cottonwood from the 5A state tournament in a high-scoring, back-and-forth game.

BRIGHTON 2, DAVIS 0: Taylor Prokopis only allowed four hits over seven innings as visiting Brighton blanked Davis to advance in the one-loss bracket of the 5A state tournament.

AMERICAN FORK 6, HUNTER 0: American Forks Austin Pitcher only allowed three hits in the shutout victory over Hunter as the Cavemen advanced in the 5A one-loss bracket.

CYPRUS 1, OLYMPUS 0: Jose Hidalgos first-half goal was enough for Cyprus to get past Olympus. Jorge Rosas delivered the shutout in goal for the Pirates as they advanced in the 4A playoffs.

MAPLE MOUNTAIN 4, OGDEN 1: Christian Tobler scored two goals and Maple Mountains defense was solid as it defeated Ogden.

LOGAN 1, PROVO 0: Jose Beto Rincon scored the games only goal in the second half as Logan held off visiting Provo to advance to the 4A quarterfinals on Friday.

MURRAY 4, BOUNTIFUL 1: Murray jumped on Bountiful early and didnt look back en route the win in the first round of the 4A playoffs. Logan Ulibarri led the Spartans with two goals.

BOX ELDER 2, WASATCH 0: Preston Faerber and Brian Rex scored a goal a piece to secure the Box Elder win in the first round of the 4A playoffs.

EAST 1, TIMPANOGOS 0: Ryan Whittles first-half goal was enough to lift East over Timpanogos. Jack Thompson got the shutout in goal for the Leopards.

SKYLINE 2, JUDGE MEMORIAL 0: Jack Dahlstrom and Nate Jensen scored first half goals to pace Skyline to the 4A first round victory over Judge.

SALEM HILLS 2, ROY 1: Ammon Fifita and Tanner Simmons scored a goal apiece to carry Salem Hills to the win in the first round of the 4A playoffs.
