GRANTSVILLE 59, TOOELE 48: Devin Adams and Skyler Cloward combined for 32 Grantsville points, as the home team earned a consecutive region victory Friday night. Tyler Woodruff finished with 20 points for Tooele in the loss.

BEAR RIVER 53, BEN LOMOND 52: Kyle Zundel scored the go-ahead basket with seven seconds remaining, and Sterling Brandley's 3-pointer at the buzzer rimmed out in the narrow Ben Lomond loss. Wade Miller led the Bear River attack with 20 points.

MORGAN 83, STANSBURY 52: Morgan's Jake Miles led the Trojans on a 32-13 run in the third quarter, where he scored 21 of his 36 points, as the Trojans defeated the Stallions to improve to 8-2 on the year.


PINNACLE 93, NAVAJO MOUNTAIN 45: Pinnacle took advantage of an early 40-10 run in the first quarter on its way to the easy victory. Jake Hardy finished with 19 points, while Dalton Rudman sank five 3-pointers and scored 15 points for the Panthers


WOODS CROSS 62, BOX ELDER 48: Hayden Grant scored 20 points, including four 3-pointers, to aid Woods Cross in securing the home win. Shad Watson was the high scorer for Box Elder with 24 points, including three 3-pointers.

ROY 60, OGDEN 50: Brekkott Chapman scored 21 points to lead the Royals to a home victory. Spencer Smith was the high-scorer for Ogden with 17 points, including three 3-pointers.

MONTICELLO 71, SAN JUAN 61: Jake Duncan led the way with 21 points, while Gunnar Hollingsworth added 15 points to help Monticello improve to 6-1 on the season.

SOUTH SEVIER 58, FREMONT 46: South Sevier's Race Parsons recorded a double-double with a game-high 28 points and 13 boards to help the Rams defeat the 5A Silver Wolves for the second straight year.

PINE VIEW 65, MANTI 55: Pine View outscored Manti 15-5 in the fourth quarter to steal the victory from the Templars. Kody Wilstead recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards, and Dallin Milne finished with 18 points for the Panthers.

SNOW CANYON 60, SALEM HILLS 44: Nate Gottfredson recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, as Snow Canyon controlled the game through the first three quarters to cruise past Salem Hills in the Red Rock Rumble.

DESERT PINES, NEV. 68, KEARNS 61: Leading by 15 at the half, things got away from the Cougars as Desert Pines outscored them 39-17 en route to the victory at the Tip Off Classic at Provo High School. Dayon Goodman led Kearns in the loss with 17 points, with Busman Ebet adding 16.

NORTHRIDGE 58, PAYSON 48: Dallas Bond drained three 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points to lead Northridge to the victory over Payson at the Red Rock Rumble in St. George.

MOUNTAIN CREST 69, LAYTON 57: Tyler Crosbie led three Mustangs in double figures with 22 points as Mountain Crest had a strong fourth quarter to earn the impressive victory over Layton.

AMERICAN FORK 60, DIXIE 47: The Cavemen cruised to the victory over Dixie at the Red Rock Rumble in St. George.

GUNNISON 53, PAROWAN 52: Drake Reynolds scored 16 points, and Braden Harris added 15 more to help Gunnison escape with the narrow victory at home. Justin Hulet poured in 33 points for Parowan in the loss.

LOGAN 56, ELKO, NEV. 51: Tyler Brimhall scored 19 points and Dallin Dahl also contributed eight points to help Logan get the victory over Elko, Nevada in the Panther Holiday Classic.

CARBON 65, GRAND 47: Jordan Blanc pulled down eight rebounds to go with 33 points and four 3-pointers as the Dinos rolled to the win after building a 20-6 lead after the first quarter.

ALTAMONT 66, WEST RIDGE ACADEMY 51: Altamont had the edge at the charity stripe, making 20 of 23 attempts, compared to just 3 of 5 from West Ridge as the Longhorns eased to the victory. Khristian Cayias led the way for the Longhorns with 20 points.

TINTIC 54, LEGACY PREP 39: Tintic's defense held Legacy Prep to 13 points in the first half and Taylor Hurst caught fire in the second half to help propel the Miners over the Lions. Hurst finished with 20 points for the Miners.

DELTA 51, MILLARD 48: Hunter Johnson finished with a game-high 17 points and Jordan Smith also chipped in 12 points to help the Rabbits outlast the Eagles.

VIEWMONT 57, DESERT HILLS 51: Jarom Tye recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 boards and McKay Butler also drilled three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 16 points to help fuel the Vikings past the Thunder in the Red Rock Rumble.

BRIGHTON 58, LA VERNE LUTHERAN, CALIF. 40: Brighton opened the second half on a 24-7 run and never looked back as it defeated La Verne Lutheran, California in the San Luis Obispo Tournament. Brandon Miller led the way for the Bengals with 16 points and Bryce Callahan also made three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points.

NORTH SUMMIT 44, DUCHESNE 38: Ben Stephens scored a game-high 14 points and collected eight rebounds to help North Summit get the win over Duchesne.

TABIONA 69, WENDOVER 38: Demont Nay scored a game-high 23 points, grabbed six boards and also dished out six assists to help Tabiona get the victory over Wendover.

EMERY 55, UNION 52: Emery's Dillon Wilstead hit three treys and scored a game-high 18 points to help the Spartans edge out the Cougars for the win.

SYRACUSE 54, COPPER HILLS 47: Diante Mitchell and Michael Phelps combined for 39 points as the Titans used a strong fourth quarter to knock off the Grizzlies.

BEAVER 50, NORTH SEVIER 47: Beaver was able to make 16 of 21 from the foul line, compared to North Sevier's seven makes, as the Beavers held on to earn the close road victory. Braxton Williams led Beaver with 19 points.

LONE PEAK 67, SOUTHWIND, TENN. 52: Top-ranked Lone Peak used a 24-12 run in the third quarter to pull away from No. 5 Southwind for the semifinal victory at the City of Palms Classic in Florida. T.J. Haws led the way with 24 points for the Knights, with Nick Emery adding 16.

TIMPVIEW 61, LEHI 47: After falling behind 22-14 in the first quarter, Timpview outscored Lehi 20-2 in the second quarter on its way to the easy victory at the Red Rock Rumble in St. George. Taylor Roy led Timpview with 18 points while Lehi's Blake Cleveringa led all scorers with 23 points.

RICH 67, SOUTH SUMMIT 63: Skyler Argyle led four players in double figures with 16 points, and Rich used a 21-12 fourth quarter advantage to earn the road victory at South Summit. Brad Richins managed to score 23 points in the loss.

HERRIMAN 71, WEST 60: David Maynard scored 19 points, while Z. Arima added 17 to lead Herriman to the victory over West at the Panther Holiday Classic.

AMERICAN LEADERSHIP 59, WATERFORD 53: After being outscored by 11 in the third quarter, American Leadership went on a run and outscored Waterford 19-10 in the fourth quarter to secure the win. McKay Bowman led the way for the Eagles with 16 points.

JUDGE MEMORIAL 72, WESTLAKE 63: Terrell Young scored 20 points and Ryan Pauley added 13 as Judge pulled away from Westlake with a strong second and third quarter for the victory at the Tip Off Classic at Provo High.

ENTERPRISE 81, LINCOLN COUNTY, NEV. 59: Enterprise opened the second half on a 20-9 run to extend its lead and eventually hold on to defeat Lincoln County, Nev. Justin Prisbrey scored 31 points and Isaac Wallin also sank five treys and finished with 17 points for the Wolves.

BOUNTIFUL 71, CLEARFIELD 42: Bountiful started off strong and scored 26 points in the first quarter for the win at the West Panther Holiday Classic. Zach Selijaas was the high-scorer for the Braves with 18 points, including three 3-pointers. Marquis Jones and Kyler Moore were the high-scorers for Clearfield, each with 10 points.

MAPLE MOUNTAIN 47, HURRICANE 40: Maple Mountain jumped out to a 12-3 first quarter lead and then held off Hurricane's rally in the second half to improve to 4-2 this season.

MERIT ACADEMY 64, SUMMIT ACADEMY 61: Joel Martinez totaled 31 points to lead Merit Academy the narrow victory. Summit Academy combined for 10 3-pointers and three people reached double digits in the loss, including Rashaan Griffin (15 points), Chris Apple (11), and Ashton Richards (11).

WASATCH ACADEMY 70, WEBER 59: Wasatch Academy, the top-ranked team in 2A, shot 54 percent from the field to knock off previously unbeaten Weber at the Tip Off Classic at Provo High School. Cody Johnson led the Tigers with 19 points, with Koby McEwen adding 18 as they improved to 10-0.

HIGHLAND, IDAHO 61, PROVO 50: Provo got outscored 14-4 in the second quarter and Highland, Idaho was able to hold off the Bulldogs to secure the win in the Tip Off Classic. Adam Finch led the Bulldogs with 15 points, nine coming from beyond the arc, and Brian Carter also chipped in 11 points.

ST. JOSEPH 69, DUGWAY 35: Zach Johnstun helped St. Joseph to the lopsided victory with his 14 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Nick Gruet scored a game high 20 points for the Jayhawks at home.

CEDAR 66, RICHFIELD 54: Ryan Armstrong, Dustin Staggs and Dason Coronado all scored 16 points to lead Cedar to the nonregion victory over Richfield.

Girls basketball


PINNACLE 52, NAVAJO MOUNTAIN 28: Pinnacle's swarming defense and well-balanced scoring led them to victory over Navajo Mountain. Raycee Birch scored a game-high 12 points for Pinnacle.


PIUTE 76, PANGUITCH 57: Kierra Gleave finished with 22 points, and Shaylee Gleave added 23 points to lead Piute past Panguitch in region play. Tori Gass and Whitney Westwood combined for 25 points for Piute.

MILFORD 62, VALLEY 31: Tia Florence scored a game-high 17 points, while teammate Chandler Rose added 15 points to lead Milford past Valley in region play.

BRYCE VALLEY 60, WAYNE 39: Bryce Valley held Wayne to nine points in the second half to get the home victory and improve to 9-1 on the season. Whitni Syrett led the way for the Mustangs with 19 points.


GRANGER 66, LEHI 56: Granger jumped out to a 22-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as the Lancers defeated the Pioneers. Lile Havili led the way for the Lancers with a game-high 16 points.

PLEASANT GROVE 49, SALEM HILLS 42: Pleasant Grove used a 21-12 run in the third quarter to defeat Salem Hills at the Desert Hills Tournament. MeKenna Miles led the way for the Vikings with 12 points, while Megan Wilde added 11 points and five boards.

CHAPARRAL, NEV. 51, LAYTON CHRISTIAN 47: Teneshia Davison recorded a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds, while Shayla Simpson added 14 points in the LCA loss.

RICH 64, COKEVILLE, WYO. 45: Alissa Petersen and Emma Peart combined for 30 points, and Rich outscored Cokeville in every quarter to pick up the victory.

NORTHRIDGE 42, EAST 36: Sydnee Acord recorded a game-high 28 points and hit two 3-pointers to lead the Knights in the road victory. Madison Roemer scored a team-best 24 points for East in the loss.

THORNTON HORIZON, COLO. 79, TIMPANOGOS 22: The T-Wolves dropped their second straight game at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix after falling behind 49-16 at the half.

EMERY 62, MILLARD 59: Emery was outscored 27-14 in the fourth quarter but was able to hold on to edge out Millard for the tough road victory. Ashlynn Allred led the way for the Spartans with 11 points.

BOUNTIFUL 60, OLYMPUS 39: Bountiful jumped out to a 21-8 lead after the first quarter and held on to get the road victory over Olympus. Kennedy Merrick scored a game-high 27 points for the Braves.

WASATCH 54, OGDEN 46: Rebecca MaWhinney scored 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as the Wasps used a big second quarter to defeat Ogden.

CARBON 40, UNION 36: Shelby Cornforth hit a free throw in the final seconds to extend the Dinos' lead to four points, securing the victory. Cornforth and Shailee Croasmun each scored 10 points to lead Carbon on the road. Missy Gingell had a game-high 12 points for the Cougars in the loss.

WEST JORDAN 52, KEARNS 28: Kim Evans led West Jordan with 15 points, and the Jaguars allowed just 11 second half points for Kearns in the road victory.

JUAB 41, BEN LOMOND 29: The Wasps hit 13 of 17 free throws in the fourth quarter and Rebecca Evans and Tessa Olsen combined for 22 points in the Juab victory.

DESERT HILLS 66, BEAR RIVER 38: Blair Bliss and Haley Bodnar had 14 points apiece as the unbeaten Thunder built a 37-8 halftime lead on its way to the easy win over Bear River.

WEST 40, COTTONWOOD 36: The Panthers used a big fourth quarter to pull away with the nonregion victory. Maddy Murphy and Cadie Payne led West with 18 and 12 points, respectively. Nichole Kristensen and Kari Uncles scored 11 points apiece for Cottonwood in the loss.

SPRINGVILLE 51, HIGHLAND 31: Malia Nawahine led the Springville attack with 18 points, as the visiting team went 15 for 19 from the free throw line to pick up the double digit victory.

TABIONA 49, WENDOVER 42: Jentri Barneck and Mackenzie Wagner combined for 30 points, and Tabiona took control in the overtime period with a 9-2 run.

RICHFIELD 44, DIXIE 40: Megan Bean recorded a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards and also had seven steals to help Richfield get the victory over Dixie.
