Jack Junior Batt1924 ~ 2012Jack Junior Batt completed his earthly journey April 11, 2012. He was born July 18, 1924 to Erma Beagley and Seth Batt in Magna, Utah. He married his sweetheart Melba Fay Henline, January 8, 1947. Their marriage was later solemized in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated more than 60 years together, rarely without one another. They dedicated their lives to each other and their children. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many capacaties including temple worker in the Logan Utah Temple. He loved his Heavenly Father and had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ. A veteran of World War II, Jack enlisted in the US Army at the age of 19 and proudly served his country. He served in the Army Railroad Battalion in the European Theater and arrived just after the invasion. He retired from Kennecott after 32 years of dedicated service. Survived by son Jamie (Deborah) Batt; daughters Connie (Ron) Furden, Bev (John) Taylor, Kathy (Jay) Salazar; brothers Seth, Norm, Carl, Dick, Mondel, and Bob Batt.Preceeded in death by his wife and eternal companion Melba, parents, Son Kay Beagley, daughter and son-in-law Gloria and Richard Burmester, and granddaughter Michelle Burmester.Special thanks to Gina Coccimiglio and the staff, nurses and CNA's of Care Source Residence for their tender and loving care of our father and grandfather these past few months.A viewing will be held at Valley View Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah Sunday April 15, 2012 from 5-7pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday April 16, 2012 at 12:00pm at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
