Verona Kemp1921 - 2012Our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Verona Sizemore Kemp passed away on February 24, 2012 Surrounded by love in the home of her daughter in South Jordan, Utah.Verona was born on December 15, 1921 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Walter Carl Eugene Sizemore and Gladys Kirstina Poulsen. She grew up and attended school in Cokeville, Wyoming. She married Daniel Arthur Kemp on September 3, 1940 in Ovid, Idaho; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Shortly after marrying they moved to Crescent, Utah; had four children; and lived in a home on the family farm. This home was the setting for countless wonderful memories that Verona built with her children and grandchildren and where she called home for most of her life. She later moved to a newer home on the east bench of Sandy, where she fostered many more lasting memories. After the premature loss of her husband in 1960, Verona, being a single mother, held many odd jobs in the community. The most significant of which was tending many young children in their own homes while their parents were away for extended periods of time. She was known as Grandma to every child whose lives she touched. Many of these children, now well into adulthood still refer to her as Grandma. For nearly ten years she was an Avon representative and quickly built lifelong friendships with the people who invited her into their homes on a daily basis. She was a member of the LDS Church and served as Primary Secretary for more than 11 years. She is survived by her son, Dennis Lynn Kemp (Sandra Jean Smith); two daughters, Gaylene Kemp Enniss (Ray [Chip]M. Enniss) and Shanna Rae Kemp Svedin (Paulus T. Svedin); brother-in-law, Richard James Perkins, 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her spouse; parents; daughter, Susan Kay Kemp Bednarik Chase; two sisters, Alene Sizemore and Orlean Sizemore Perkins; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.Funeral services will be Thursday March 1, 2012 at 11:00 am at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W.
