Jesse Jackson and Michael Dukakis aren't the only presidential candidates visiting Salt Lake City this week - James Warren, the Socialist Workers Party candidate, will be in town Friday evening.

Warren will talk about "How Workers Can Fight the International Economic Crisis" at 8:30 p.m. at 147 E. Ninth South. The speech is open to the public, but a $2 fee is requested.

Warren, 36, is a longtime activist in the black rights and labor movements. He is touring the country explaining his party's proposals to unify the working class to resist economic crisis.

He is pushing for a shortened work week with no cut in weekly pay to solve unemployment; affirmative action to correct race and sex discrimination in employment; and canceling the debt owed by underdeveloped countries to Wall Street banks.
