A North Salt Lake man was in stable condition Friday in Pioneer Valley Hospital following surgery for a bullet wound suffered during an argument Thursday.
Roger Allen Tschantz, 28, was shot in the stomach while at the home of Joseph Simons, 6017 S. Misty Way, according to a Salt Lake County sheriff's office report.
Simons was later arrested at his home and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of attempted criminal homicide.
"I just think it's too much drinking and too much arguing, and a gun entered into it and a guy got shot," said sheriff's Detective Richard Judd.
Neighbors of Simons called police about 1:30 a.m. after Tschantz came to their door and stated he had been shot.
