A week's worth of searching has turned up no clues in the disappearance of a West Bountiful man who was returning home from a church camp in Morgan County.

An air and ground search Wednesday over some of the same area that searchers first covered when Rex L. Maughan, 56, was reported missing last week turned up nothing that was overlooked the first time, according to law enforcement officials. The search for Maughan, bishop of the West Bountiful 2nd Ward, is being coordinated by West Bountiful Police Chief Wayne Jeppson and the Morgan County Sheriff's Department.

The search is concentrated on finding Maughan's vehicle, a beige and tan-striped 1985 Toyota pickup with a white, industrial-style, windowless camper shell. The license plate number is UTAH 0712AW.

Maughan left a church camp in Morgan County at 6 a.m. last Thursday, waving to a group of campers that included one of his daughters after knocking on their cabin window to awaken them.

Fully dressed in a gray shirt with blue stripes, dark blue pants and white tennis shoes, Maughan got into his truck, drove off and hasn't been seen since.

Those with any information are asked to contact the West Bountiful Police Department, 292-4486.
