There was a major personnel shakeup in Minnesota and the coach was fired in Pittsburgh in National Hockey League activity Tuesday.

Not only was Minnesota North Star coach Herb Brooks fired, but so were all the other personnel. Apparently, all, including Brooks, can reapply for their jobs with Jack Ferreira, the new general manager.At Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Penguins fired Pierre Creamer after one season as coach and launched a search for his replacement.

Creamer led the Penguins to a 36-35-9 record, the team's first winning season in nine years.
