The Irish rock group U2, fresh from a sellout yearlong concert tour of the United States and Europe, is working on a feature film due out in October, their record company said.

U2, which has sold more than 14 million records worldwide and scooped this year's top Grammy awards from the U.S. music industry for the album "The Joshua Tree," have called the film "Rattle and Hum."Directed by Steven Spielberg protege Phil Joannou, it is being completed in Los Angeles, said a spokeswoman for Island Records.

The film, using live footage from their U.S. tour, will be released to theaters at the same time as a double album.
