Now that a Regional/Urban Design Assistance Team has offered suggestions on how to revitalize downtown Salt Lake City, all of the groups involved need to work together to make the changes become a reality.

John Williams, a member of the Central Business Improvement District board, made that observation Tuesday to the Board of Governors of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.Williams, a Salt Lake businessman, said officials of city, county, business and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints need to work together to implement the ideas of the R/UDAT group, who made some recommendations several days ago after a few days walking through and flying over the downtown.

Rather than the recommendations gathering dust as so many reports do, Williams said he hopes a committee Mayor Palmer DePaulis appointed will implement the recommendations, although it may take many years.
