Police and deputy sheriffs were returning Wednesday to cover some of the same ground they checked earlier in their search for a West Bountiful man missing for six days, hoping to find some clue they may have overlooked.
Rex L. Maughan, 56, disappeared Thursday morning after leaving a church camp in Morgan County, to return to his West Bountiful home. Ground and air searches in Morgan, Weber, Davis, and adjacent counties have turned up no trace of the man or his truck.West Bountiful Police Chief Wayne Jeppson, who is coordinating the search with the Morgan County Sheriff's Department, said Tuesday all of the possible routes Maughan might have taken have been covered by air and ground searches.
Crews have checked roads through Weber, East, and Parleys canyons, Jeppson said, and highways through the Uinta Mountains and even into Wyoming.
Maughan left the Zarahemla church camp about 6 a.m. Thursday, driving a beige and tan-striped Toyota pickup truck with a white, industrial-style, windowless camper shell. The truck has Utah license plates 0712 AW.
Anyone with information on Maughan or the truck should call the West Bountiful police, 292-4486.
