Assistant Utah Attorney General Earl Dorius has been elected president of the National Association of Extradition Officials.

The honor was bestowed on Dorius last week at a conference in Kansas City, Mo., officials said Wednesday.The 25-year-old organization is made up of prosecutors and law enforcement and corrections officials nationwide.

Dorius has been Utah's extradition expert for 15 years and has prosecuted such high-profile murder cases as Gary Gilmore and the Hi-Fi Shop killers.
