LAYTON -- Kevin Garn, majority leader in the Utah House of Representatives, has been named chairman of First National Bank.
With five branches in Layton, Bountiful and Clearfield, First National Bank will expand out of Davis County in April when it opens a new branch in downtown Salt Lake City at 480 E. 400 South."We are delighted to have a man of Garn's exceptional experience and reputation serving as chairman of our board" of directors, said Howard G. Holt, president and chief executive officer of the 95-year-old Layton-based bank.
Garn is chief executive officer of KSG Distributing, president of KSG Properties and is on the National Advisory Committee for Weber State University.
He has been a representative from District 16 (Layton, Kaysville and South Weber) since 1990.
Before becoming majority leader of the Republican legislative leadership, he served as majority whip.
First National Bank has assets of $135 million.
