A Navy satellite designed to help sailors pinpoint their locations at sea was launched into orbit, officials said Thursday.
The 383-pound NOVA 2 navigational satellite was boosted into space at shortly before midnight Wednesday, said base spokesman Capt. John Sullivan."We had a successful launch, and everything looks good so far," Sullivan said.
The launch of the satellite aboard a 73-foot Scout rocket was the first space launching from the Air Force base since April 26.
