LAYTON - Carl H. Delight, age 52, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2000 at the Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton of liver cancer.

Carl was born on November 22, 1947, in Rotterdam, Netherlands, a son of Cornelius H. and Connie Hillegonda van Hulst.He married Juell Stevenson on August 14, 1970 in Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced. He then married Pam Kirkeby, they were later divorced. Carl married Suzette Moore on November 20, 1998.

Carl came to the United States on September 22, 1951, and attended school in Salt Lake City. Carl moved to Layton in 1955, and graduated from Davis High School where he played Quarterback in which he helped the Davis Football team take state in 1966.

Carl served in the Netherlands-Belgian Mission, after which he served in the Army national Guard as a linguistic. He attended Weber State College and was in real estate and a broker in land investment.

Carl was an active member of the LDS Church, had served as Elders Quorum President and High Priest Group Leader.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Suzette of Smith River, CA; four children, Dustin Carl (Alisa) Delight of Bountiful; Camie Delight (Bo) Brower of Clearfield; T.J. Delight of Kaysville; Dylan Delight of South Dakota; his parents of Layton; one brother, David N. (Robyn) Delight of Syracuse; two sisters, Thelma Delight (Ray) Whitaker of Kaysville; and Elvera Delight Dicus of Layton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2000 at the Robins Park LDS Ward Chapel, 202 West 1675 North, Layton. Friends and family may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, and on Monday at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Lindquist Memorial Park at Layton.
