The University of Utah Child and Family Development Center will offer a variety of classes, including math and literature courses, for toddlers and preschool children this summer.
The "Summer Sun for Toddlers" program will focus on exploration and socialization for children from 18 months to 2 1/2 years old. The program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays from July 1 until Aug. 19. Cost is $40, including snacks.The "Summer Sun Fun" program will include art, music, science, building, cooking, language, math and dramatic play for children from 3 to 5 years old. The program runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, from June 27 until Aug. 18. The cost is $150, including snacks.
The "Math Magic" program will use story, song, art, outdoor play and snack activities to teach math concepts to 4- and 5-year-olds. The program runs from 9 a.m. until noon, Mondays through Fridays, July 11-22. The cost is $50.
The "Wide World of Literature" program will use literature to teach customs and traditions of foreign cultures to 4- and 5-year-olds. The program runs from 9 a.m. to noon, Mondays through Fridays, Aug. 8-19. The cost is $50.
All classes will be held at the Alfred Emery Building on the U. campus and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call 581-6544.
