Murray school superintendent Ronald Stephens has given the second annual Superintendent's Awards to 91 students.
In grades one to six, students in each grade level at each elementary school who received the highest composite score on the Comprehensive Test of Basic Skills received a plaque and a gift.Seventh- and eighth-graders who did best in each of the test's five parts received a plaque and a gift certificate from Standard Optical.
Ninth-graders who earned a 4.0 grade point average in their junior high school years received a plaque and gift certificate. At Murray High School, students enrolled in advanced placement classes were selected by a formula that combines grades in AP classes and scores on the AP exam. These students received a plaque and a $75 savings bond.
The awards were presented during school assemblies last week.
