Ken Adams was removed as the United States Olympic boxing coach Saturday because he allegedly assaulted a U.S. Amateur Boxing Federation official last month.

The action by the federation's National Review Board, after a six-hour hearing, was to suspend Adams for six months, which had the effect of removing him from the Olympics.

Adams was also reprimanded for using abusive langugage. Adams was accused of grabbing USA-ABF controller J. Kerstan Dahl by the neck during a heated exchange of words on May 12.
