The chaos at the State Republican Convention Saturday symbolized what is happening in Utah under full Republican control and leadership, the chairman of the State Democratic Party said Monday.

Speaking at a press conference at the Neighborhood House, Randy Horiuchi said the Republicans again demonstrated their inability to control and organize their own events. The chairman was speaking of the Republican's failed attempt to draft independent gubernatorial candidate Merrill Cook into their ranks.

Horiuchi pledged that the State Democratic Party Convention, June 24-25, would be a "much more organized, united affair."
