Provo Canyon School has been awarded a certificate of accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals.

School officials said the accreditation is evidence of the school's efforts to provide quality health care.Provo Canyon School is a 230-bed long-term residential treatment facility which specializes in treating adolescent boys and girls, 12 to 17, with behavioral, emotional and academic problems. Provo Canyon School is owned and operated by Charter Medical Corporation.

To become accredited, the school voluntarily requested an on-site evaluation by commission surveyors who applied standards designed to further the objectives of quality patient care and the safety of the environment in which that care is provided.
