Primary General President Michaelene Packer Grassli of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a new member of the National Advisory Council, Boy Scouts of America.
President Grassli was named June 3 along with four other new council members during a three-day meeting of the national group in San Diego. Some 2,200 key volunteer and professional Scouting officials and others attended the sessions.President Grassli, who was reared in Blackfoot, Idaho, was named to the church's Primary General Board in 1975 and served as a member of the committee responsible for implementing the Blazer Scout program for 11-year-old LDS boys.
She is a member of the national Cub Scout committee and is a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for outstanding service to youths in a local community. Before her call as general president last April, she was second counselor in the presidency.
