CHL Catalog: “Between the future of the digital manuscripts content, the Church History Library Internet Archive initiative and the Joseph Smith Papers Project website, the CHL is the world leader in digital content of religious history.” High praise indeed in this “Review: Church History Library Catalog” where J. Stapley lists the mostly pros about using the new system and the wonderful accessibility of so many church history items. It’s a thorough review, well worth the read if you are interested in familiarizing yourself with this incredible new resource.

Fire lessons: I’ve been following this blogger’s experience evacuating from the recent New Mexico fire with interest and found these “Lessons from the Fire” most informative. She lists the things they did well and the things they could have done better like, “One of the most daunting tasks, at least for me, was deciding what to take with us. I felt overwhelmed with any choice beyond, 'take the photo albums.' We ended up taking all of our DVDs with us. I know, random, and perhaps not the best thought out decision. If I had to do this again, I’d take more pictures from the walls, or perhaps some books with sentimental value. Decide ahead of time, what you really want with you. Once a mandatory evacuation has been issued, you cannot go back for the things you forgot.” Click for more great emergency preparedness advice!
