CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — John Edward Jones, a 26-year-old

Mormon University of Virginia medical student who died Nov. 25 after being

stuck in a Utah cave, was remembered Saturday, Dec. 5, as a \"humble\" man of

faith.

Family and friends shared stories at Jones' memorial service about how they've been inspired by his close relationship with God.

Jones become stuck upside-down in Utah County's Nutty Putty Cave, 44

miles south of Salt Lake City, during an exploration trip. Authorities

said that after entering a tight passage, Jones became trapped head

first at a 70-degree angle, with much of his waist and torso pinched in

a 10-inch-wide space.
