Doug Thimm and Peter Moyes have joined Architectural Nexus as principals. Thimm's experience encompasses the master planning, design and development of urban and resort area mixed-use commercial retail, office, residential, entertainment and other interrelated facilities. He has more than 30 years of architectural experience. Moyes has more than 28 years of architecture experience, with design expertise in civic, justice and convention center architecture as well as urban commercial office architecture. Moyes' education includes a degree from the University of Utah.
Matthew E. Jensen will become a partner in the law firm Smith Hartvigsen PLLC on Jan. 1. Jensen focuses his practice on natural resources and energy law, with an emphasis in water rights, geothermal energy and mining. Jensen's education includes degrees from the University of Utah.
Alan Seegrist has joined The Buckner Co. as vice president and practice leader of the company's employee benefits division. Seegrist has more than 20 years of experience. His career in the insurance industry began in 1989 and he soon opened his own agency, Seegrist and Associates. His specialties include health benefit consulting for businesses, health management programs, wellness implementation and self-funding insurance policies.
Brent Morgan has been appointed to associate at Nolte Associates Inc. Morgan is an engineering manager with Nolte's civil design/land development group in Salt Lake City. Dr. John Lyman has joined his practice with the Mount Ogden and Bountiful Hills Eye Centers. Lyman began his ophthalmology career in Oregon and after 16 years decided to relocate to Bountiful, where he founded the Intermountain Eye Associates in 1995. He specializes in cataract and intra-ocular lens implant surgery along with laser eye surgery for diabetes, glaucoma and retinal diseases.
