J. Bart Laybourne has joined The Buckner Co. at its Ogden location as an insurance associate. Laybourne has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. He began his insurance career in 1982 with a family-owned agency selling personal, home and auto insurance. He advanced into selling property and casualty policies and has been in the commercial business insurance industry ever since.
Tiffany Fletcher has joined Sanctuary Day Spa's Gateway location as salon director. She will oversee salon operations and marketing. Fletcher moved to Provo from the Bay Area to attend beauty school and earned a business degree from LDS Business College.
Brent Haight and David McCombs have joined Coldwell Banker Commercial as office specialists at the firm's Salt Lake City office. Haight has more than 14 years of experience in commercial real estate in Utah. Most recently, he was an office agent at another Salt Lake-based brokerage. McCombs has expertise in Class A office space and will represent clients specifically in sales, leasing and investments.
Jarrod Hunt has joined the Provo/Orem office of Commerce CRG as a commercial real estate professional. Hunt has more than 10 years of experience in real estate advisory and several years of experience in business management and financial analysis. Hunt's education includes a degree from Utah State University.
Dr. Cabot Murdock has joined the Intermountain Medical Group at its Southridge Clinic in Riverton, and Dr. Jason M. Hancey has joined the company at its Sandy and Southridge clinics. Murdock will practice general surgery. He is certified in general surgery with additional credentials in general thoracic and peripheral vascular surgery. He most recently was medical director of a vascular laboratory in Ohio. Hancey will practice plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Tom Lund has joined Tanner LC as director of practice development and recruiting. He has experience in business development, recruiting and client retention. He began his career in the office equipment industry and spent eight years with the Salt Lake City office of an international accounting firm as its director of business development. He most recently was with a large financial institution. Lund's education includes a degree from Southern Utah University.
Patsy Barnes has been named vice president of sales at Panoptic Security. Barnes will be responsible for increasing revenue, growing the sales organization and further developing the company's business development. She has more than 20 years of corporate sales experience and eight years as owner of an information management company.
Ron Cloke has been named general manager of all Two Men and a Truck operations in Utah. He manage operations in Salt Lake, Davis and Weber counties. Cloke has experience in operations and management, having managed multiple locations for national restaurant chains. His education includes a degree from Weber State University.
Jared K. Hill has joined the law firm Thorpe North & Western LLP as an associate. Prior to attending law school, Hill worked for five years at a government-owned atomic power laboratory, specializing in the mechanical design of nuclear reactor cores. His legal practice includes areas of intellectual property, with primary emphasis in the mechanical arts. Hill's education includes a degree from Brigham Young University.
Julia Cissel has joined the Girls Scouts of Utah as chief financial officer. Cissel has experience in fiscal management, strategic planning, marketing, process re-engineering, budget administration and multi-entity collaboration. Her experience includes activities in the nonprofit and corporate areas. Cissel has founded an entrepreneurial consulting firm, was CEO of a nonprofit cooperative and held various executive management positions.
Daniel Tabish has joined Barnes Banking Co. as mortgage loan officer in the Roy branch. He has been a mortgage lender since 2001. Tabish's education includes a degree from Weber State University.
Brad Cahoon has been elected to the board of directors of the American Lung Association's Southwest Region, which covers Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada. He also serves on the American Lung Association of Utah board and is past chairman of that organization. Cahoon is a partner with the law firm Snell & Wilmer, representing clients in environmental, zoning, land use, natural resources and water law, including litigation, administrative and regulatory law and government relations. His education includes degrees from the University of Utah and Brigham Young University.
David Jewkes has been named executive director of the newly established Resolution Group of Commerce CRG/Cushman & Wakefield. Jewkes has more than 20 years of asset management experience. He joined the company in 2007 when Burnham Real Estate merged with the Las Vegas Commerce CRG office. Prior to that, he was with another firm, eventually becoming president and CEO.
Judy Bard, Larry Hanson and Tim Harwood have joined Suunto as sales representatives in the Midwest. They will cover North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Missouri and Minnesota for Suunto. Bard is president of Athletes in Motion Inc. and has been representing the sporting goods industry for over 30 years. Bard will represent Suunto in run-specialty, bike-specialty and triathlon shops with Suunto's Training line. Hanson and Harwood are both from Adventure Sport Marketing. Hanson has spent more than two decades as a representative in the outdoor industry. Harwood has spent the last five years as an outdoor rep.
Curtiss Singleton has been named vice president of North American AV channel sales for ClearOne. Singleton has more than 20 years of experience in professional AV sales, sales management, marketing and training. Curtiss has served in senior management roles in several companies.
Kevin Whatcott, owner of Homewatch CareGivers serving Salt Lake City, has been selected to serve as a board member on Homewatch CareGivers International Advisory Board serving the region. Whatcott was chosen by his peer franchise-owners.
David Bailey has been named vice president of the Utah Farm Bureau Federation. Bailey replaces Sterling Brown. Bailey will serve as a link between the state's regional managers and the state office, as well as advising the Young Farmer and Rancher program and the local collegiate chapters of the bureau. Bailey previously was a regional manager for the federation. Bailey's education includes a degree from Utah State University.
Brett Webb has been named vice president of sales at Jus International. He previously worked for a pair of direct-sales companies. Webb's education includes degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Phoenix.
Kevin Stocks, director of the Brigham Young University School of Accountancy, has been selected as president-elect of the American Accounting Association. He will serve one year as president-elect, one year as president and then one year as immediate past president. Stocks joined the BYU faculty in 1983 and has served as the School of Accountancy director the past six years.
