Former Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Hornets big man Jackson Vroman — son of Brett Vroman, a Jazz center for 11 games during the 1980-81 season — reportedly will play internationally this summer for Lebanon.
According to BasketballFollowers.com, an international basketball news Web site focusing on the Middle East, Vroman has "accepted Lebanese citizenship for an undisclosed fee and will play for the Lebanon National Team" through next August's FIBA Asia Championship tournament in China.
Vroman, 28, was MVP of the previous FIBA West Asian and Asian Clubs Championships.
The Iowa State product also played at Snow College and, as a senior, at Bountiful's Viewmont High.
He played last season for a team in Iran, Saba Mehr, and last month starred for another Iranian team, Mahram, that won the FIBA Asia Champions Cup in Indonesia.
Vroman reportedly will fill a Lebanese roster spot previously held by Joe Vogel, a Colorado State product who was with the Jazz's 2003 Rocky Mountain Revue camp.
