Jesse Jackson - like his Democratic presidential campaign opponent Michael Dukakis - is coming to Salt Lake City to speak to the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

Jackson's campaign office confirmed Friday that he will arrive in the city Tuesday night and speak to the convention on Wednesday in the Red Lion Inn, said Jill Remington, an aide to Salt Lake Mayor Palmer DePaulis.Dukakis is scheduled to speak Sunday. Although wins Tuesday in the California and New Jersey primaries apparently gave Dukakis all the delegates he needs to secure the Democratic nomination, Jackson has vowed to keep his campaign alive until the Democratic National Convention in July.

Vice President George Bush, the apparent Republican presidential nominee, is not able to attend the convention because of campaign engagements in California.
