LAYTON —The annual Kendall O. Bryant Fire Prevention Open House will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the main city fire station, 530 N. 2200 West.

October is Fire Prevention Month, and the free event is open to the public.

There will be many educational activities dealing with fire and injury prevention. The fire department will conduct live fire and repelling demonstrations. Rides on the fire engine will be offered for voluntary donations of canned food items that will go to the Family Connection Food Bank.

The police department will have child ID kits available as well as SWAT and K-9 demonstrations. Also, 911 emergency dispatchers will be on hand to help children learn the proper use of the 911 emergency system.
