I completely agree with Frank Millward's assessment of the executive pay scandal of some of the failed companies which have produced this present crisis (Readers' Forum, Sept. 26). Some years ago when Patrick Ewing was representing the players union in negotiations with the NBA owners, a reporter asked, "Why the large salaries demanded by the players?" Ewing replied, "We need a lot of money because we spend a lot of money!"

These completely greedy executives were already making millions and then took these companies down and wanted millions more. Maybe we cannot get back these "golden parachutes," but we can sure expose them and perhaps shame them. They have robbed their own employees and this country. It's the moral equivalent of robbing hundreds — even thousands — of banks.
