WEST VALLEY CITY — Police were looking Thursday morning for two men who investigators say robbed a Sconecutter employee of cash, his cell phone and his shoes.

The employee was standing outside the restaurant, near 3600 West and 3500 South, about 2:30 a.m. when two men approached and started talking to him, said West Valley Police Capt. Tom McLachlan.

At some point during the conversation, one of the men pulled out a 9 mm handgun and robbed the employee, McLachlan said.

After the men ran off, police were called and a nearby officer spotted them jumping a fence into an apartment complex near 3800 West and 3500 South. Police set up a containment around the complex and brought in K9s, but the men were not found.
