Barnes Aerospace said Thursday it has tripled the size of its operations in Utah, with a new 165,000-square-foot facility in Ogden.
The jet-engine-component overhaul and repair service company, a business unit of Barnes Group Inc., based in Connecticut, has been in business in Ogden for two decades. The new plant is in Business Depot Ogden. A grand opening will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
The company said the Ogden division has seen annual revenue triple over the past 10 years. The division specializes in aerospace sheet-metal fabrication and complex assembly and produces precision airframe and engine components and assemblies serving aircraft and engine manufacturers.
Barnes Aerospace last year was approved for state and local financial incentives designed to lead to 474 new full-time jobs and the retention of 145 existing jobs.
Barnes Aerospace is one of three Barnes Group divisions. Together, they employ more than 6,200 people at 70 locations worldwide.
