Kirby Heybourne

The Covey Center will be the place to see actor/singer Kirby Heyborne in concert.

Heyborne has appeared in the films "Saints and Soldiers" and "Take a Chance," and the FOX TV sitcom "Free Ride," as well as a number of films spotlighting The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Although he received some criticism for saying one line in a Miller Beer commerical earlier this year, he has gone on record saying it was a hard decision to make, but did it "to support his family for a year."

He recently did a Snickers commercial with Mr. T and is currently working on a film called "God Save London," which is about a young businessman who loses everything he owns to an e-mail scam.

Heyborne was unavailable for an interview before the concert because he was en route to the Dominican Republic to scout sites for a new film, Heyborne's assistant Gracia Taylor said.

However, Taylor said, Heyborne will be at the Covey Center on Monday.

"The concert will consist of old favorites and a string of new songs that will appear on his new CD, which will be released in late February," she said. "He still doesn't have a name for the CD, but he'll know it when it comes to him.

"Also, we will be taping the Monday concert. So it will be even more fun for the audience to be there."

To date, Heyborne has released three CDs, "Inside," "Braver Days" and "Merry White Tree in the Night."

His performances can also be heard in the films "The RM" and "Sons of Provo," in which he also appeared.

In addition to his movies, TV and music, Heyborne also directs the Society, a comedy improv group in his hometown of Los Angeles.

Also on Monday, Heybourne will be at the Wilkinson Center at Brigham Young University from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to sign autographs and meet fans. The public is invited, Taylor said.
