A judge has dismissed the case of a woman charged with stealing money from the Jordan School District due to problems with witnesses, but prosecutors plans to press charges again.
Deborah Draper-Robins, 52, a Draper resident, had been charged with one count of theft by deception, a second-degree felony. However, 3rd District Judge Tyrone Medley dismissed the charge this week.
Prosecutors alleged that Draper-Robins stole more than $28,000 in school funds while she worked as head secretary of the Jordan Tech Center from December 2000 to January 2008. She handled bookkeeping and bank deposits, but discrepancies were found after district accountants conducted an audit.
