For eight years now, we've had a "C" student in the White House. I'd love to say the results have been predictable, but that would be too generous. Frankly, I would like to see America elect a president who is equipped to deal intelligently with whatever surprises may come our way in the next four or perhaps eight years.

I'm not claiming there is an inevitable correlation between intelligence and capable leadership, but I am suggesting that it's much more likely than the odds of mediocre mental capacity producing a great leader.

So, America, what do you want — a president who graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and was chosen to be editor of Harvard Law Review, or a president who graduated 894 out of 899 at the Naval Academy, who admits he doesn't understand economics and has never learned how to use a computer or send an e-mail?
