ANTHONY MILES, Provo, football: The Bulldogs are still winless this season, but Miles is doing everything he can to get his team in the win column.
In Provo's 40-28 loss to Orem on Friday, Miles totaled 352 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns. He had 181 yards on kickoff returns, including an 87-yard score, and two punt returns for 49 yards. He also had nine receptions for 122 yards. He caught touchdown passes of 2 and 5 yards from quarterback Matt Griner.Miles has caught 25 passes for 372 yards this season. Against Provo, he also punted four times and had a 47.7 yards per-punt average.
ERIN LENCE, Rowland Hall-St. Mark's, volleyball: This senior setter doesn't have to be the loudest player on the court to command both the attention and respect of her teammates.
"She is an outstanding all-around player who leads our team by example," said Rowland Hall coach Kendra Tomsic. "She's always putting the team first with her cool-headed decision making. Her hustle on the court and her passion for the game is an inspiration to all."
Lence maintains a 4.0 GPA and is a four-year varsity starter and co-captain of this year's squad."Erin has been and will continue to be the key to our success," her coach said.
