WOMEN'S TENNIS: Freshman Lisa Johnson of the Utah women's tennis team captured the flight B singles title at the BYU invitational Friday. En route to her singles championship, Johnson faced fellow Ute Julie Tukuafu in the semifinals. Johnson topped Tukuafu in a three-set match, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2. In the championship match Johnson faced Colorado State's Tori Arneson, winning a hard-fought contest, 7-5, 7-6.

CROSS COUNTRY: The University of Utah women's cross country team ran in the Montana State Invitational on Saturday. The three-mile race was scored in dual format with Utah scoring 2-4. The Utes defeated Montana State (24-31) and Utah Valley University (27-29). In the traditional scoring, Utah tallied 111 points to place it fifth out of the eight competing teams.

Senior Chelsea DiGrazia crossed the finish line first for the Utes for the second time this season. She ran a steady race to finish fourth overall with a finish time of 17:21.

VOLLEYBALL: Senior middle blocker Emillie Toone had 10 kills and six blocks, but the University of Utah volleyball team could not avoid its third consecutive loss (25-22, 25-20, 25-18) Saturday at Wyoming in the UniWyo Sports Center.

Utah (7-4, 0-2 MWC) dropped to 0-4 when losing the first set this season and are 1-3 in five-set matches this year.
