For more than two years we Americans have endured endless promises, hype, degradation, rhetoric and deception with this presidential campaign. I suggest we get back to basics: (1) This country was founded on a basic tenant — that we believe in God, even Jesus Christ. (2) Despite the campaigning, the president of the United States does not run this country — Congress does.

Our Congress has regressed over the decades and should now make decisions to defend our Constitution and Christian beliefs bound by fiscal responsibility. (3) Each of the branches of our government should operate within their respective bounds as directed by our Founding Fathers.

Remember, we are not electing a king or a god but a mere mortal. Let's keep things in perspective.
