The trail that runs alongside the Jordan River Parkway will be closed at 7500 South Thursday and Friday for construction of the Jordan River TRAX bridge.

The trail is expected to reopen with a temporary detour, which will be in effect through August 2009, according to the Utah Transit Authority. That detour will cross a live railway track and will be closed from dusk to dawn to allow for freight traffic.

Other trails along the parkway will also close sporadically as construction progresses on the light-rail line, according to UTA. For more information, visit rideuta.com/projects/midjordanlightrail or call the toll-free hotline, 888-550-2211.
