GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A Greenville high school football player has died after collapsing during a game.

Pitt Memorial Hospital nursing supervisor Irene Singleton told Raleigh television station WRAL on Saturday that Jacquan Waller died after being injured during Friday's game. A cause of death wasn't available.

J.H. Rose High School coach Todd Lipe said in a release that the junior running back was a dedicated player who was well liked by his teammates.

Teammates told The Daily Reflector of Greenville that Waller collapsed on the sideline after he was hit at the line of scrimmage and fumbled.

He was taken from the game in an ambulance. BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Ball State receiver Dante Love was strapped to a backboard, carted off the field and then taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis during Saturday night's game at Indiana.

School officials issued a statement saying Love felt numbness and tingling on the field and was initially taken to Bloomington Hospital before being transferred to Indianapolis for further evaluation. There was no additional update on his condition.

He was hurt with 10:45 left in the first half after catching a 2-yard pass. When Love turned upfield, he was hit by Hoosiers cornerback Chris Adkins. Love fumbled the ball and Nick Polk scooped it up and returned it 31 yards for a touchdown.
