UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Asjha Jones scored 16 points and the Connecticut Sun forced a decisive Game 3 against the New York Liberty with a 73-70 victory Saturday night.

Tamika Whitmore made two free throws in the final 30 seconds to help the Sun withstand a New York rally in the fourth period. The first-round Eastern Conference series will be settled Monday night in Connecticut.

Lindsay Whalen had 15 points for Connecticut and Svetlana Abrosimova had 12.

Loree Moore led New York with 16 points, and Janel McCarville and Shameka Christon had 11 apiece.
