The newly created Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program has named Janet Wolf as director.
Wolf, who had served as director of Youth and Family Programs for Salt Lake City and created YouthCity programs, is now the director of arts education initiatives at the Utah Arts Council. She will serve as the statewide program coordinator and as liaison between the member organizations within the Sorenson program.
"I look forward to realizing the positive impact of an integrated arts education curriculum on Utah's children, schools and communities," Wolf said. "For too long, the arts have been relegated to the status of a second-class subject."
Prior to working with YouthCity, Wolf was employed at community service organizations, including Travelers Aid Society and Planned Parenthood. She has worked as a psychotherapist in a private practice and currently works on the board of directors at The Leonardo.
