The Utah Department of Transportation plans two weekend closures of the northbound onramp from I-215 to I-15 in North Salt Lake to facilitate road repairs near the Center Street overpass.

The roadway was damaged on July 29 when a semitrailer truck rolled and the 210,000-pound vessel it was carrying was ejected onto the road surface.

The first closure will begin Saturday night at 10 p.m. and last through 11 a.m. on Sunday. This phase of the repair project will include some minor reconstruction of the roadway.

The second closure is scheduled for the following weekend with closure starting at 10 p.m. on Sept. 27 and running through 11 a.m. on Sept. 28.

Motorists are urged to use the I-80 connection between I-215 and I-15 for northbound access during the closure. The Legacy Parkway will also be available for automobiles and small trucks.
