CROSS COUNTRY: Senior Kyle Perry has been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's cross country athlete of the week.
Perry was BYU's top runner last Saturday, leading the Cougars to a first-place team finish at the 64th annual Aztec Invitational, held in San Diego, Calif. The Sandy native crossed the finish line in third place in the men's 8K race in 24:42, a time that currently ranks first in the MWC. A total of 17 teams competed, including 162 individuals. BYU had four runners finish in the top-10.
The two-time All-American ran a 4:59 mile pace, 21 seconds ahead of the nearest conference competitor aside from two of Perry's teammates, Brandon Hebbert and Stephan Shay.
