A suspicious death in Salt Lake City earlier this year has turned out not to be a homicide.
The body of 36-year-old William Taylor was found in an alley near 300 West and 900 South near Trails Men's Club on March 3 by a passer-by. Investigators said initially that it appeared Taylor had been in a fight and had suffered some trauma on his body. He was even found with a clump of hair clasped in his hand.
But an autopsy from the Utah State Medical Examiner has revealed Taylor actually died of hypothermia, said police spokeswoman Lara Jones. Taylor did get into a fight that evening, but the hair in his hand turned out to be his own, she said.
The case is now considered closed.
