CEDAR CITY — Police have arrested two people on investigation of child rape in connection with the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.

Police said the sexual assault was reported to child welfare authorities about a week and a half ago. The girl had revealed that she had sex with an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old, Cedar City Police Sgt. Jerry Womack said.

"You can't consent to sex if you're 11-years-old," Womack said Tuesday.

Officers tracked down the two young men in Delta late last week. One was booked into the Iron County Jail, the other was booked into a juvenile detention facility.
